The Chicago Area has a new victim group, Purpose Over Pain, thanks to the generous support of the CAPS office of the Chicago Police (Community Policing), the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence (ICHV), and the always do-gooding Joyce Foundation.

These inspired, mostly homicide and gun violence victim family members are developing a series of outreach programs and violence prevention educational programs in addition to holding victim support meetings. They will be hiring staff to more develop their outreach capacity.

The group is new, beginning in the fall of 2007, and stay tuned to this page for more information.
